This mysterious modal sixteenth century French tune receives some twenty-first century treatment. Written for the Willamette Master Chorus series it celebrates the birth of Christ in four intriguing verses and then breaks into a clamactic ”Gloria in excelsis Deo.” The ending quiets down softly and resolves into a pleasing major tonality.
