Emily Dickinson’s craftsmanship of words deserves a musical setting at the same par, and Dr. Dickau succeeds. In gentle flowing lines from the flute and the piano, the words about nature’s gentle spirit are caressed beautifully. In an easy ballad character, with simple syncopations, this piece was commissioned and premiered by Julie Aune and the Mankato Children’s Choir.
