From the Judith Herrington Choral Series comes ”Two Christmas American Spirituals,” for treble choir with piano and tenor saxophone accompaniment. ”Go Tell It!,” the best-known of the two is full of dynamic energy and rhythm. Dr. Unruh’s setting of the other, ”Rise Up, Shepherd, and Follow!” is appropriately haunting, but grows in intensity and strength.
