Shirley McRae is a well-established arranger and clinician, especially with children’s voices. This tender folk song, lamented by slave mother’s about their forsaken children, has been selected for the Judith Herrington choral series. An excellent concert or festival work, it was commissioned by the Cincinnati Children’s Choir.
