Ariel Quintana
Born in Libertador San Martin, Entre Rios, Argentina, Ariel Quintana started playing piano at the age of 3. He graduated from the Universidad Adventista del Plata with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and a specialty in piano. He also served as arranger and composer for the University Vocal Ensemble. He earned a Master's Degree in Music, in Piano Performance from the National Conservatory of Music in Buenos Aires.
The Los Angeles Master Chorale under maestros Paul Salamunovich and Grant Gershon have performed some of Ariel's arrangements and premiered his Hodie Christus Natus Est in December 2000. Some of his choral works such as Mass From Two Worlds, and recordings can be found at www.arielquintana.com. Currently he is a student at the University of Southern California in the Doctoral Program in Choral Conducting, assistant conductor for the Los Angeles Master Chorale and the conductor of the Cathedral Choir at Hollywood Presbyterian Church.

Ariel Quintana is a name that is gathering much attention. Director of Music at Hollywood Presbyterian he recently was named assistant conductor to the Los Angeles Master Chorale, this while completing his doctorate (USC). His compositions have been performed by some of the world's most renowned ensembles and Pavane is proud to release his setting of Isaiah 58:6-9. Beginning in a mysterious recitative style, the music soon explodes into an array of tonal light. The ending is quiet and beautifully assuring.
